Let's go the Beach

PARANG TRITIS BEACH OF JOGJA

The beach was famous for her black sand, but the big waves signified that it was not suitable to swim in such rough sea. Local visitors crowded everywhere, even lots of garbage washed up on the beach, they seemed to adapt to the surrounding quite naturally. Small warungs, stalls, huts with bathing taps etc. were lining in a long queue along the main passage. Two to three horse carriages were strolling on sand, a whole range of activities were in sight, from having massage, hair-braiding , playing beach football, or even sitting idly under the sun umbrellas.

After our tour from prambanan we ride about 2 1/2 hours just to reach this ocean. It's a tiring ride but when you see the big waves coming you can just resist the beauty of it. I immediately put my bag to our mats and paddle around the water.  This one of my great experience in staying in Indonesia, we are so thankful that we just not visited Solo City but we also saw the beauty of Yogyajarta.

Superstitious locals will discourage you from wearing green if you are entering the water. Once in a while, a terrific wave will come from Antarctica to bring you out to sea. Contrary to what others have said, there is actually a life-saving SAR (Search and Rescue) outfit at the main beach whose main objective is to save lives and thwart any suicide attempts.

Since swimming is officially not allowed, most visitors will partake in other activities like praying to Roro Kidul, horse carriage riding, ATV, kite-flying, sun tanning and general sitting around on mats.
